i have a 1980 el camino. it originally had the 229 v6, but i dropped a 350 in it. now i want to put headers on in, but it is a 3 speed MANUAL transmission on the floor. no headers that i have found will work for this application. I was wondering if anyone else in this forum has run into a problem like this with a 78-87 el camino, and how they were able to do it.

I've tried shorty headers, full length, and some that are supposed to work for a manual transmission on the floor, but the collector pipe is too low to the ground to bend a piece of 2 1/2" pipe around.

Heddman supposedly makes a full length header for this(#68310), but i am still skeptical.

I run Hooker 2451 on my 4 speed 78. If you don't get an after market transmission crossmember to accomidate dual exhaust pipes you may encounter road clearance issues. Jon
