well the state of Michigan is selling 3 trucks, one 1992 Cheyenne 4x4 2500, with plow, link is here (http://www.bidcorp.com/auclist3.asp?lot=8343)
a 94 of the same truck here (http://www.bidcorp.com/auctionmain.asp)
and a 95 1500 4x4 no plow here (http://www.bidcorp.com/auclist3.asp?lot=8395)
does it matter between the 2500 and the 1500? and why does it state that a 1500 has a 5.0 moter, i thought that was a ford moter? im hoping for input from anyone, all are at with od, anything i should look for that you guys know of? im gunna post this in the f/s forum too, thanks for your guyses help on my end!

LOL,
I've been to that state auction. Dmbrisket, are you from Lansing? That place is only like 10 mins from me.

I think the 2500 has a 5.7 in it.

It looks like they're also selling a flex-fuel taurus too.

Go with the one that'll have the most re-sale value when you go to sell all the left over parts.

The 1/2 ton would be the easiest truck to work with. Although the bigger motor might be nice to have in there

Who's Ted? Like Bill and Ted's excellent adventures?

You might want to keep the plow. Good money in the plowing business in Muskegon...

The 2500 might have a stronger engine with more torgue and a different cam then the 1500 because of the plow. The 1500 has probably been used as a light duty (driving to sites and hauling small loads) whereas the 2500 are probably work horse, heavy duty trucks.

It depends on what you are going to use the engine for (eg. driving=1500, drag racing, working=2500).

Good Luck !!!

It says on the website that the 2500s come with the 5.7 (350) and the 1500 comes with a 5.0 (305).

I've heard the 305s are wimpy and get about the same gas milage as a 350.

i would go with the 94 k2500 it is almost identical to the 92 except it should have a different transmission. the 92 will have a 700r4 while the 94 should have a 4l60E or 4l80E. the engines will be identical. the 8th digit of the vin will tell you engine type (K).
