Installation of Energy Suspension on a 91 HBcerestialcivic91 03-21-2005, 12:10 AM hey everyone, i just purchased an energy suspension master kit and i was wondering if anyone has ever done it DIY installation of these bushings from home and what you used to complete it... any info will help thanks Ones&zeros 03-21-2005, 12:24 AM I Think They Would Be Fairly Simple To Put On, Take It Step By Step, Start W./ The Sway Bar Bushings. YZ125rider21 03-21-2005, 01:30 AM have the whole kit on my car plus trailing arm bushing...best thing to do is take all your control arms off and take them to a shop to press out the old bushings only and you can put in the poly kit yourself....they charge about 80 bucks to push out all the bushings BullShifter 03-21-2005, 01:53 AM I Think They Would Be Fairly Simple To Put On, Take It Step By Step, Start W./ The Sway Bar Bushings. It's A LOT harder and time consuming than that. Some need to be pressed in/out while bolts will be seized. On this one your probably better off taking it to some who knows what they're doing with the right tools. YZ125rider21 03-21-2005, 03:57 AM It's A LOT harder and time consuming than that. I did it at a garage that is fully equiped with a mechanic with 30 years experience. OMFG was it a pain in the ballz every bolt frozen and not just in the threads but in the metal sleave within the factory bushing... this is by far the worst of the difficultys as you cant free it or get vice grips on it or get PB blaster into it. all in all it took over 20 hours of work with the propper tools. now knowing how to do it maybe 16 hours. knowing how to do it and buying all new suspension bolts probably 6-8 hours. Also, there is a bushing in the rear on the front of the swing arm which does not come in the kit but is usualy blown as well, this is a critical adjustment point for the alignment and should be replaced with new OEM bushings or just the asembled arm (cost effective). well there is my 2 cents. oh and good luck.
