I want to lower my truck, wanted to lower the back only but not sure. I understand the main problem with lowering them is the config. of the rear springs. Any suggestions appreciated.

On a leaf spring set up, the length and curve of the springs, as well as the shackle length dictate how high the truck is. You could look into various kits, try some street truck magazines for references to kits.

ok so maybe my hasty post was only worth a penny.

There are lots of steel fabricators/specialty suspension shops that could craft a custom length & curve leaf spring set for you, to get you where you want to be. The end result might be the same, but you'd be missing the factory support and warranty that you could get from an outfit that does the kits on a regular basis. The shorter shackles could be obtained from your local speed/truck shop.

Relocating the leaf springs from on top of the axle to below the axle will also give you a couple inches.
