helpgetbb 03-20-2005, 11:43 AM I need help finding out the name for the part on my kia that is leaking. I think the brake cylinder but i can't find a pic of the part to make sure. in the rear if you take off the drum there is a "cylinder looking" part with a black rubber piece on the front end...this is where the brake fluid is leaking. what is the name of this part so i can buy it????? Anybody else have alot of problems with their 2002 kia spectra. years ago a lawyer sent me a paper about people suing but I didn'; respond...what an idiot i am cbeck 03-20-2005, 02:38 PM um.. is there a similar thing on the other end of this cylinder as welll? For cars i've worked on there is, but I haven't done brakes on my kia yet, so i cant say there's not some new korean engineering going on. Anyway, this is properly called a "wheel cylinder" and you should be able to buy a new one or a rebuild kit tha will contain some calipers, bushings, and a few o rings. wich ever one you go with you'll have to bleed after you reinstal. more complete removal instructions can be provided if you need em. ricebike 08-27-2005, 07:46 AM + if your rear wheel cylinder is leaking, buy them & new sets of shoes as well... the material is contaminated w/ brake fluid & you'll need a fresh set. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
