2001 Intrigue - sometimes the car will crank forever and not start. I can smell gas coming out of the exhaust. This is an intermittent problem and only happens every once in a while. Sometimes it also idles rough after starting. After letting it "rest" after not starting, it will start and run normally. Any ideas?

My guess would be a leaking injector(s). The reason it won't start is because there is too much raw gas that has leaked into and is sitting in the cylinder (flooded). - thus the raw gas smell. It would idle rough because it's still trying to burn off that raw gas. My guess would deffinately be leaking injectors.
