I have been on this site for some time, and really like my Silvy alot...I was trying to pay atttention, to see what type of people drive these trucks....I see most people, that are between the age's of 30- and 40, driving around, not alot of older or younger people...but that could be just in my area. Also, most people I see do some kind of work with their trucks, so I was wondering what kind of work....So why doesn't everyone list how old they are and what type of work they do, so we can see that Chevy type of guys or gals....(yet to see a gal driving a Silvy...but anywho...).....

Is over 30 that bad? I still feel like I'm about 24-25... LOL. Actually, I'm 31 but still get carded at the liquor stores every now and then. I take it as a compliment! I'm a telecommunications tech. We have a contract with BellSouth and do most of their equipment installation. I travel all over the southeast and try to keep the miles off my silvy. I've got a 88 s-15 that does most of the work, although the gas mileage isn't much better than my full size. I'd guess-ti-mate that I put about 40k+ per year on a vehicle. The last 2 years I wore out a 95 grand am. Just sold it about a month ago with 198k on it, then found this cheap little s-15 w/ only 112k on it. If it lasts a year I'll be happy.

I'm 20, but don't tell the guy at the liquor store :D. Going to college to be a mechanic. 'Round where I live, most of the pickup drivers are 35+, mini trucks go down to 16 or thereabout. Meet some of the older C/K drivers at the auto parts stores (most love my truck :)... dunno why, it's all stock).... most of them just getting oil/air filters. The Chevys are truly great trucks (older ones anyway, heard some bad things about the newer ones... may just be cause a newer trucks shouldn't have ANY problems). I'll be very suprised if mine doesn't go at least 200,000 miles (high performance engine just waiting to be dropped in:))... gets a beating almost every day, and just asks for more!

Now that someone else got the "older than me" tag..

I am 38 and work for a large city as an Engineer Associate, I do field engineering for the water/wastewater utility. I make sure the contractors, utility crews and engineers meet the specifications and still provide usable creations and repairs that work in the field.

33 and I'm a software tester to put it simply.

Not very exciting, but the company's wholly owned by an insurance company and business is steady (which is nice in such a shitty tech job market) .

The funny thing about the W/WW job, everybody provides and keeps my job flushing or is that rising?? As a city grows the old parts of town get older and new inventions keep me busy. I don't get paid to lift a shovel or run a plant, I get paid to find solutions to keep the water going up hilll and the wastewater going down hill. It's a shitty job but someone has to do it...

I am 46. I'm an Electronics Technician at an urban combat training center for the Army. Most of the troops going "over there" come through our training center as a final prep for their deployment. I bought the Silverado last July, so I could semi retire the '72 Blazer that's been my daily driver since 1989. I expect to use the truck to tow my dirt track Camaro this summer, and hope to start the resto on the Blazer next winter. I'm new to this forum, but expect to visit regularly. Thanks for being here guy/gals.

I'm 52 and a self-employed millwright. I own a 2001 K-2500 Silverado standard cab with the 6.0L engine. It gives me plenty of power for pulling the trailers plus hauling whatever materials I need.......I had a 1996 K-2500 Cheyenne w/the 6.5 Diesel and I loved that truck. It would work all day and night.......untill I blew a head gasket and pitted both the block and the head on the passenger side. Anyway, I got a fantastic deal on the Silverado. It only had 23,000 miles on it, and the dealer let me have it for $11,000., so, I work w/the "Silvy". My only complaint is the gas mileage, but what are you going to do?? You get what you get.

Godsmack, Korn, OLD Metallica, Greenday, ect...
Eazy E, Too Short, Eminem, NWA, ect...
Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Tom Petty ect...
I also listen to Funk, Country, Punk, anything really.

My music tastes are too diversified to name a particular group or category of music. But I am a Metal/Rock first and foremost.
Out of that category I would have to say that Godsmack is my favorite. I have seen them in concert 4times, each one better than the last.

Rock, Classic rock, Southern rock, Country, even some rap now and then. On long drives I'll listen to ESPN, Fox news, or Talk radio on XM. It seems easier for me to stay awake when I can get into the conversations on the radio... Besides, sometimes you actually learn something new.

Okay..seems to be my turn now. The weekends over, maybe my brain still functions.

I'm 23, be 24 April 4th. I'm a full-time Network Administrator/Tech Support for the local school system. Part-time installer of emergency lights/sirens/etc... Also sell and install and kind of audio/video equipment you can imagine. Employed by 3 Fire Dept's in the area, as well as the local EMS. Also do some DJ'ing on the weekends to make some extra cash.

As far as music.... Stevie Ray Vaughan is my all time favorite..I love the blues, hands down.
I can, and do listen to anything.
Any kind of guitar music I'm into..Brad Paisley, Van Halen, Hendrix, Ozzy, Black Label Society, Megadeath etc... Limp Bizkit is also a favorite of mine..the old stuff anyhow.

I forgot anything else...my head is kinda hurting a bit.

Hm. Missed the part about music, so I'll chime in again.

All-time favorite band is KISS. I own every album, except most of their compilations (what's the point?)

I'll listen to pretty much anything, with the exception of gangsta rap and top 40. Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Jazz (Braxton Brothers, Ray Charles) and an Irish folk/pop singer named Cara Dillon. I like the Corrs and Mary Black too.

I also like 80s punk - Dead Kennedys, Dead Milkmen, Subhumans, etc. I detest The Sex Pistols.

When I go to the gym to work out, it's Anthrax on the MP3 player. A fast, steady beat makes it easier to run on the treadmill or elliptical. Plus, the music rocks! :D
