i just bought my 98 starus from a used car lot and 2 days later it blew a head gaskit and from what i hear its one of the first things to go on that car.600 hundred bucks for repair,200 hundred bucks for the tow and 2400 for the car.I would have had better luck with a ford.

No, you would have been better off at a reputable car lot who would have taken care of any problems since they would offer a warranty with any used car they sold. Not trying to rub it in, but in the future you need to be careful where you shop, especially for cars. I will not even think of buying a car that does not at least have a 90 day warranty on the drivetrain. When you buy a car, you expect it to be in running condition for that kind of money, otherwise why not get it off of the street from a personal owner, as there is no difference without a warranty of some type.
