I have just retired my 87 mazda rx7 turbo II and am looking to get rid of my 93 prelude si. I need a daily driver but want something that i will enjoy. I wanted a 3rd gen RX7 but need something that wont cost me in repairs. Now i am looking for a 91 and up MR2 turbo. I have seen some in the area for sale but they are usually over 100,000 miles on the odometer. I know that toyota is reliable so let me know what you think.

MR2's are generally pretty reliable cars. But like all cars, it depends on how the previous owner has treated it. Just check the MR2's out carefully and make sure that it hasn't been thrashed, so make sure you take it for a thorough test drive first. When you eventually find a good example, be prepared to pay that little bit extra, as it'll definetely be worth it in the long run. Have fun!

Hey Toyota's in general as you said are very reliable. But of course when treated bad they will suck pretty big! Go to www.board.mr2faq.com and ask around there. More people go to that fourm then this one and it is spacifically for MR2's. Hope that helps you out.

How many KM'S is that? It is getting on a bit by the sounds of the k's BUT if it has been well looked after, ad it ain't boosting really high then unless your planning on thrashing it all the time it should be fine for a while yet!
