i need to replace my wheel bearing or the whole hub actually in my 99 prelude... does anyone know if i can do this on my own or do i need to take it to a garage to use some special tools?

If you're still wondering about this, I I was able to do it relatively easy on my 85 accord.

(note: I'm not sure if things have changed by now, and it was about six years ago so I'm a little fuzzy)

*remove the wheel
*Wiggle rotor to get it to slide off (I don't think there was anything bolting it on besides the tire...)
*straighten pin on bolt cap in center of hub and pull out, then remove cap
*Remove retaining bolt
*pull the the shoes off after taking the spings and emergency break off
*wiggle wheel hub (and pull towards you)and the bearing should (did for me) slide off.

The best way to know for sure would be to swing by the autozone and give a peek at the hayes manual to see all that you need... generally the managers I have talked to have a policy that it is fine to open them if you want to look at it.
