Hi, i have a 93 accord that is not starting up right. It will start flawwlessly sometimes, but other times when you start it up it will go to 1500 then it will die, but when you hit the gas the rpm will go back and stay steady like a normal warmup. I am thinking it is the fuel filter or something to do with the fuel system or even worse the altenator not getting power. Family of four here and only car. Need Help Please!

What I am about to say boggles my mind. But I replaced a starter in a 98 GMC and afterwards it started fine and ran fine, all accept the problem that you have mentioned. I wasn't going to be able to look at it for a few days so the guy took it to pep boys who said (beats me) the battery was bad. He replaced the battery and had no problems after that.

Maybe It's a delay of the alternator charging coupled with todays more electrically diven cars, i got no idea, but worth a shot.

to check it without getting a new battery, try it jumped off and see if that corrects the problem.

If you take it to your local Autozone often they will check your starter, battery and alternator for free.

Also are you getting any Check Engine lights or having any other intermittant symptoms.

I had the same problem on a 90 accord I used to have. Does the alternater light come on when your driving? Like when you start to slow down. Well I took it to a shop and they said that there was something wrong with a sensor. I tried different things like replacing the battery but the problem contuined. One thing that did help was puting in a little oil like once a week.
