OBD II Code - P0401 - Check Engine Lightuaetwins 03-16-2005, 08:10 AM Hi, My 2000 SLK 230 Kompressor had a "check engine light" so i hooked up my OBD II Code Reader and it gave me the following: P0410 - Secondary Air Injection System Malfunction. Can you let me know the possible reason for this? Is this a major problem?...i have STOPPED driving the car and want to consult this forum before i turn it to a mechanic (cos they will rip me off!)... any help will be greatly appreciated Thanks, Twins talonlover 03-16-2005, 08:55 AM It's not a major problem. I can't remember any specific problems with your engine but whenever I get one of those codes the first thing I do is look for any loose, broken, or rotten hoses especially around the air pump. Another thing I have seen with a code like that is the metal air injection line from the EGR valve to the e/a actuator get clogged with residue(very common on 104 in-line 6 engines). Thats a pretty involved job to clean but not to expensive. Now just remember it could be a lot of different things that set a code, but without proper testing equipment you are just guessing, so I would recommend a good service tech diagnose it before you go replacing egr valves and such. As far as not driving it, you should be fine to drive it to a shop. uaetwins 03-16-2005, 10:08 AM hey talonlover, thanks for ur quick reply...i will take it to a workshop after the weekends and see what they have to say... its a relief to know that its not a major problem:) thanks once again Twins davemisto 10-02-2005, 05:28 PM hey talonlover, thanks for ur quick reply...i will take it to a workshop after the weekends and see what they have to say... its a relief to know that its not a major problem:) thanks once again Twins hey talonlover, the 111 motor don't have no air pump, uses the Kompressor, (supercharger), as an air pump, bring it to us, the dealer, your welcome vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
