I need to know if there are any companies out there to offer hi-po stuff for 4.3 V-6 chevys?Im wanting to fix a V-6 to race(different) but Ive only fooled w/sbc or bbc stuff.Am I wasting my time? Im fixing a S-10 with a 4.3 vortec out of my 94 blazer and using cal-tracs.Its going to be a weekend warrior, but fast I hope!

I had a friend that had a 4.3 in a front motored dragster. He could not keep the motor together and it was as trick as he could make it. He used a COMMON PIN nascar steel crank instead of the 4.3 street motor's cast, split pin crank. This allowed him to use small block V8 5.7" alum rods instead of the street motors offset rods. For moderate use you would probably be ok but for something fast I would just stick with the V8's.

Thanks for the reply. So much for the 6 banger, just thought it would be different. So i guess I'll stick to a sbc or bbc.Can anyone tell me the diff between a turbo & a blower?both have boost ungodly but which is better at the track and price diff!Wanting to try something diff and dont know yet what.Done tried a bbc(mild 468) in a 68 firebird, ran mid to low 7's.

most people in the csmaro forums say the v6s arn't worth putting money into lol. The 4.3's are nice engines though for everyday use, my dad has one in his s-10.

i have a 91 blazer with a 4.3 in it and a few mods, its quick off the line, but nothing to take to the track. however a blower would be a roots type supercharger and a turbo well, id hope you know what that is. supercharging it would get you more power from the start, however a turbo would kick in in higher rpms and depending on size, can give you more boost. if you were to stick with the 4.3, id say to supercharge it, they seem to run pretty well with that set up.
