Im trying to do some reserch for my friend on this engine swap and id like to know how easy is it, what it takes to do it, what might be better, really any input would be helpful thanx.

turbo and fuel injected

my 87 is just RE, just fuel injected and non turbo


there were some other 22's made too,

Yeah there is the 22r but im just trying to see if this swap might be hard or is it a direct bolt on

it all depends on what motor you are putting in. if lts a 305 or a 350 the
only thing in the motor bay that you have to move is the radiator. along with changing the ignition computer and wiring harness, tranny, rear end and fuel system. other than that its all minor mods. if you want a tire burner your best bet for the tranny would be a turbo 400 ( easy to get at a junk yard to save some $$) if not just a turbo 350 tranny would work. for the wiring you can probably get thet from auto zone or nearest parts store.

damn alot more than i expected, o well i pass the info on to him. Thanks for the info. By the way have either of you heard of LC engineering i wont to know if there reputable, i think he might want to go all out on the motor

yeah lc engineering is a pretty big company. their website is www.lcengineering.com check it out its got alot of performance stuff. they have an online store and other things. they have mods from drag racing to rock crawling.
