96' tahoe- sarting roughapeder 03-15-2005, 01:28 AM I have a 1996 tahoe with 127k miles on it. The trouble i am having is that it dosent start right up when the engine is hot/warm. When the engine is cold it starts right away without any problems. It always does eventully start when engine is warm but not without a couple turns of the key. Why would it start great cold but not warmed up? Also the SES(service engine soon) light comes on occationally but does go off. The systems check revealed a cylinder misfire.Could this effect the starting? I have changed plugs and checked wires. What can be the problem? any advice is greatly appreciated. J-Ri 03-15-2005, 04:35 AM I believe there is a TSB about that, although I don't remember what the solution is. Call the dealership and ask if there is one for your truck. SpitAndDirt 03-15-2005, 06:30 PM Call the dealer for any computer updates available for your truck. You should mention the "hot restart" complaint. Other than that, check and or change your cap and rotor for sure, they burn out around 130,000 miles (burnt center electrode). Change your fuel filter every year or 12,000 miles.
