Hi
I plan to install a new exhaust header by LC Engineering on my 2001 tacoma, 2.4L, 4 cyl, 5 spd manual, 2wd. What, if any, is the torque and the pattern for tightening the bolts manifold to Head/block?
Anyone know?
Thanks.

For a 2004 2.4 the exhaust manifold to head torque is 36 lb. ft. no tightening sequence is given. I would think your truck has the same manifold as the 2004.

I guess this runs deeper than I thought. :naughty:
I was hoping to replace the exhaust header and pipe up to the cat with a LC Engineering SS E-pipes.
My 2001 Tacoma 2wd 2.4L turns out to be a CAL truck with two cats. Can I get rid of one of the cats? Will it still pass emmissions? Can I slide the front cat back? Can I replace the two cats with one high performance that will still pass emmissions? Where do I go to answer all of this? LC Engineering where not too big on suggestions.

Please help.. anyone?

Where do I go?
Where do I look?
Called Toyota TRD - no help.
Called DOWNEY-OFF ROAD - worthless.
Doesn't anybody ever do anything with the e-pipes on a Tacoma?

call Northwest Offroad, they're in Washington. They are the Toyota Truck experts, its all they do.

Seriously, guys,

Didn't anybody ever hear or try doing anything with an exhaust on a CAL 01 Tacoma?

Does anybody know of any other Toyota forums that might know anything about this subject?

YES, it is possible to take both cats off and replace them with one high performance cat. YES, the truck will still run normal (but with more HP - due to new EXH header) os2 sensors do not light up. If you want more info write here.... too bad this forum was no help though.

Hi Gusto,
Sorry I didn't reply earlier.
Yeah, I still have the OEM exhaust. Do you still need it?
