pathfinder or 4runnermjshort18 03-13-2005, 11:10 PM hey everyone, i am looking to get a used suv soon and am looking at either the 96 or newer pathfinder or the 96 or newer 4 runner. what i want to know is what you think would be a better choice. whichever you choose tell me why and if you have one or have had one recently. at the moment i am leaning toward the 4 runner because of the look and because it came with rear locking differential in a couple of years. thanks alot for your feedback. mudpath95 03-15-2005, 11:01 AM well. its wicked hard. i have a 95 pathy. i LOVE it. my best friend has a 85 4runner. shits SICK. we both offroad. but if i have to choose...i would have to pick the 4runner. ftiliws 10-31-2005, 12:54 PM i recently traded in a 99 4runner for an 02 pathfinder. i have to admit that i liked the 4runner better overall. it's much more rugged than the pathfinder. the pathfinder's tailgate rattles all over the place. even on the highway. if you are going to do any offroading, i'd suggest the 4 runner. if you want a smoother ride, choose the pathfinder. that beind said, 4runners are extrememly underpowered. i live in colorado and going into the mountains was a chore. 183 hp doesn't cut it in the mountains. going up hills i'd have my foot to to floor in 4th gear doing 505mph while getting passed by everything on the road. the 5 speed manual pathfinder (2002) has 250 hp and is much more responsive. hope this helps. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
