Mazda6 mileage vs 2.4 liter Camry
03-13-2005, 07:59 PM
Is the Mazda6 mileage with a manual tranny compatible to the Camry 2.4 liter mileage. The Camry is rated at 24 and 34. I know what the EPA says the Mazda6 is rated for but would like owner info on their actual mileage. I am in the market for a new car and don't know if I WANT to get a Camry or not. The Mazda6 is very sporty...the Camry is not. The Mazda3 is too small for me. Thanks for the input.

I have a '04 M6S auto, the best I've been able to get is 22 mpg mixed, 60% hwy/40% suburb. I don't drive it real hard. Had a '03 Accord 2.4 auto and got 28/33. Gas mileage is not the 6's strong point- handling/driving attributes is. Manual should be a little better, but not by much. I still much prefer driving the 6 vs. the Accord. 5K miles and no problems.

Thanks for the info. I am stuck between a rock and hard place. I want something fun to drive but with good mileage too. Guess I will be going with good mileage. I can't seem to find something that offers both. I will be looking at the Mini this weekend but am afraid my 6'2.5" broad frame, wide not fat, won't work. I know they say there is alot of room for tall drivers but their tall is usually 5'10".

I have a 2003 Mazda 6i 4-cylinder, 5-speed. I've been recording mileage for two years now, and on average, I get 25 mpg doing mostly around town driving (some highway, some secondary).
