95 Pathfinder doors lock automaticallygpwil3847 03-13-2005, 11:28 AM The doors on my 1995 Pathfinder lock automatically when I shut the doors. I can't figure out how to make it stop. I have locked myself out at least once, fortunately I had a spare key. I thought it was a security system problem as the remote was damaged after getting wet and no longer worked. I obtained a new remote and reprogramed - nice to have a working remote to operate the security system again, but it did not fix the problem. jonathanjdfraser 03-18-2005, 11:54 AM i have a 93 pathfinder se, same problem, and it only does it once in a while, or some random days, the only thing i figured out is that it only happen if you shut the doors hard, if you shut them lightely, it's fine.. i'm still tryin to figure out why also gpwil3847 03-19-2005, 08:52 PM I remember slamming the driverside door hard several years back and believe it may have started then? I have tried WD40 on all the locks incase they may have been sticking. On another message further down that was suggested with the opposite problem, the poster stated that the car will unlock itself automatically on occasion - I would rather have the autolock problem than autounlock at least the car is secure. jonathanjdfraser 03-20-2005, 10:00 PM see, thats what i dont understand, i have a combination of both problems. sometimes when i close my doors as i stated above, my doors will lock by them selves, wheather my truck is runnin with the keys in the ignition or not. then, other times, when i get out and want to lock it, i try to lock it, and all the doors unlock automatically, i can't lock it, they dont randomly unlock, only certain times after runnin it, my guess is the sensor that detects the key in the ignition. because sometimes when i wanna lock my truck, i have to get in the passenger side, sit in my truck, lock all the doors, then manually unlock the passenger one from the inside, get out of my truck, shut the door all the other doors should stay locked, and then lock the passenger side door using the key. i'm gussing stronly by these problems that it's the sensor that tells if theres a key in the ignition or not, because the pathfinder is designed to not let you lock the doors if the keys are in the ignition. i'm still lookin into it. this may happen to me once a week at the most, so i'm not sure what is causing it. k31 06-20-2005, 06:31 PM my 94 pathfinder locks automatically when you slam the door. no suggestions except dont leave the keys in the car!! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
