I have 1994 pickup that when it is cold it takes forever about 2 or 3 miles for the overdrive to kick in, anyone know what would cause this. It only seems to do it when its cold. It also get crappy gas mileage any suggestions there. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Mine does the same, I'm almost sure that I read where the overdrive will not kick in till vehicle reaches operating temp. I just take it easy till it decides to change!!

normal thing, mine does exact same, it waits and waits to click into AOD final gear when its cold, its an 87 2wd 22R and 4 spd auto with pushbutton overdrive

just something have to live with
