after filling up at the gas station, randomly my '88 cherokee 4.0L starts and runs for about 5 seconds and dies. fuel pump working, fuel filter clear. egr has been bypassed for some time but has never given me problems. after removing filter and draining lines, now runs for about 25 seconds and dies. possible fuel delivery problem, or sensor(s) or computer?? getting plenty of pressure at fuel rail. a lot of hesitation when it does run. any help would be appreciated. thanks

nope, no check engine light. another note, after towing it home ~10 miles from gas station, it started and ran normal, drove it up and down road. shut it off and problem returned..dont know what to do....
