I own a 1994 530 series (less than 80,000 miles). We have problems at times with loss of engine compression, resulting in unable to start. My mechanic says we have a engine block serie number that has been known to be faulty. BMW is aware of the problem, but not willing to accept resonsibility. Anyone heard of this situation?
