One day, as I opened by rear passenger door with the car running and playing radiohead, ALL of my speakers cut out. My reciever was still on and appeared to be playing. Nothing else seemed out of the ordinary. When I closed the door, the music came back on. Puzzled, I opened the door again and the music once again turned off. I wriggled the rubber conduit between the door and body and the music crackled. Then (moronically) I wriggled it again and the stereo and dome light turned off. Then I smelled burning electronics.

I've checked ALL of the fuses, including the big ones under the hood - all OK.

The following no longer works:

all dome lights
power locks
stereo
power mirrors
vent controls
temperature reading on overhead console (other functions are fine)

ANY IDEAS where to look first. Anyone have any electrical diagrams?

Its the wiring. since most (if not all) of the electrical components on the interior are connected in the same circuit, the there must be a faulty wire. I assume it is in the plasitc protective tube for the wires going to the door in question. From wriggling the case, that must have just competed cutting the wire (as in, the wire was coming apart, like when you bend a piece of metal enoght, it seperates). So you may just need to reconnect or replace the wire. That should make the circuit work again and everything will work fine.

move the rubber boot covering the wires i am sure you will find a few broken wires, i have the same on my PASSENGER DOOR (FORNT), but everything works exccept for the power mirror side adjustment (the vertical adjustment still works - I fixed that parT) one day I will have to get int here again to complete the hole thing and get the horizontal adjustment working as well.

Since all those items went out at same time look for a bad ground wire. The wires should ground at a bolt behind kick panel on drivers side.

Thanks for the quick replies guys. I was hoping I wouldn't have to tear out seats and carpet. I'll take all of your suggestions though unfortunately I'll have to wait a little bit for the weather to warm up more (Columbus, OH windchill 18 degrees) before I can get any work done.
