1990 Daytona ES Alternator

For some strange reason I have to change the alternator every 18 months. What could the problem be? Would it make sense to change to a 120W instead of the 90W?

Where are you getting your alternators from? Some places sell junk re-man's.
Also, make sure you are not over-tightening the belt, this can where down the bearings.

Question?? Do you wash your engine on a regular basis? I know it sounds crazy, but I used to wash mine and I didn't think that water could hurt the alternator but it does? My alternator went bad.

Also, how do you know the alternator is bad?
