166K, still running nicely with normal repair.

Replaced; Radiator, Fuel Pump, Transmission, Range Mode Sensor, Alternator, Fuel Sending Unit, Idler Pully, Fan Clutch w/ New OEM Fan, 4 O2 Sensors, AC Compressor w/ Clutch, Headlights (original were yellowed), Change Oil Every 3000miles, Starter, Belt's, Filters, Breaks, Rotors, Spark Plugs, Clean EGR Valve, & try to keep up with Regular service.

To Come?; Joints, Body, Bearings, Rear-end Front-end... hope non of this soon. I do have a knock when the body twists in the cold. Only seems to happen during our Florida winters.

Truck is actually for sale, I'm a younger guy and want somthing newer as my own choice. Purchased this vehicle as a quick need a truck. Been a great vehicle but want somthing new. But I don't know. Feel the need for a change after 7 years.

Contact me if interested. :runaround: Make me a Offer! Highly Customized.

Did you track down your whistle? I have the same sound on my 95.5 with 100,000 miles. Just bought it so I don't have much for maintenance records.

1995.5 Isuzu Rodeo 103,000 miles. 5 spd, 3.2 engine

I bought this with 97,000 miles on it. Someone drove it the other day and said the clutch is almost shot because the pedal comes up about halfway or so before it engages.

I don't have any service records but it seems to shift OK. I'm used to a honda civic with a cable tranny so this hydro clutch is a little different for me.

Does the amount of clutch pedal travel that I have mean the clutch is on it's way out?

Anyone know the cost of replacing one of these?

Thanks for the input!

I just bought a 95.5 manual and the clutch comes up pretty high before engaging. It catches strong, though, and is not slipping, so I am going to wait to replace it.

I called the local shop I like using and they said the book price was $1400, which seems ridiculous to me, but the mechanic did say it would probably be less--how much less he couldn't say :shakehead I was expecting something in the $700 range.

If your truck isn't juttering badly upon moving from a stand still, and there is no clutch slippage, I would drive it as is. You may get another handful of problem free years out of the current clutch.

(FYI--95.5 rodeo 137K and running strong. This truck replaces a 99 Tacoma that was recalled do to frame rust, and it's a worthy machine.)

2001 Rodeo V-6 Auto. Just bought the car with 116018 miles. Frame was undercoated from day 1 so there ids no rust. Only problem I have so far is the #6 coil pack was on the wrong cylinder and was getting a P0300 code, and just found out that the front 4x4 actuator is either not working or the connectors are dirty. Car runs good and hasn't been beat to the ground. Original owner is from Vermont and traded car in at a Westboro Mass Dealership.

Any major problems: No, other than I can't seem to determine why it's recently began idling rough and I can smell gas/exhaust fumes when it's idling. I've replaced the fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, plugs, wires, and I've ran Seafoam through the throttle body via vacuum hose, in through the gas tank.

I have had this SUV for approx. 1 1/2 yrs.
Rebuilt tyranny, changed timing belt, TPS, fuel tank level sensor, shocks, and getting ready to replace seal on ac compressor. I like the power of this 3.2 and now the tranny shifts correctly. Nice car.:)

I bought it reluctantly brand new with only 40 miles on it. I had just started a new job (which turned out to be my career), college and my son was 3 at the time. My dad told me I should get a more reliable vehicle and he picked it out and said he would help with the down payment if I got it. I hated it. Did not want a stick shift although I did want an SUV. So I bought it.

It turned out to be the best purchase of my life. Watched my son grow up from his car seat to the driver seat in Her, and She carried my second son home from the hospital when he was born in 06.

I kept Her up pretty faithfully with my oil changes and tune ups. I have to do a better job with flushing and replacing coolant and transmission fluids; I have done that at about 2x. But NO MAJOR PROBLEMS. Just got a new catalytic converter in 2013 costed me $600 just to pass smog. Other than that I did most of the work myself starter 2x, alternator once, fuel pump, and brakes once (just the front never had to do the back ones yet). Also had the AC compressor replaced a couple times, after this summer it may need it again.

I have used her as a commuter from Sacramento to the SF bay area for 6 years. She is still my commuter but now I only work 30 miles away from home.

Thought She was a goner a few days ago; all of a sudden She started smoking on my way to work and heard noise coming from the engine. I was sad. But turned out to be a broken Idler pulley. Got her back on the road the next day. She is still going strong, feels like I can get another 300k miles out of Her!

After a long hiatus after selling my 95 Passport I am back with a 1995 Isuzu Rodeo with 174K.
Interior is pretty clean but the engine leaks oil so I have some work to do.

I was Googling how many miles a Rodeo can last and found this site. I have a 2003. Purchased used in 2008 with 67,000 on it. Currently has 159,000 miles. He's needed a bit of work over the years.
New radiator
New fuel pump
New water pump
New timing belt
Brakes replaced several times
Check engine light came on for the very first time last week. Tests showed decreased power. They are trying to replace something in the main computer system at my mechanic and having trouble finding someone to program it. Worried this could be the end. Some other problems I have:
Back will not stay up. You have to hold it up.
One door has not opened in about 8 years
ABS light is always on
CD player quit working in like 2009
2 different windows have broken and needed replacing
Key fob thing has not worked in over 10 years

I do love my car even with everything wrong. Hope they can get it fixed.

Hi Ramblin Fever, I am interested in how your Timing belt/water pump/tensioner (per maintenance rec. @ 59K) worked out, as may be considering similar on mine at 126800 miles, thank you!
