Why does my deck keep shutting off??

I have a 2 year old Panasonic deck w/ the blue digital screen and earlier this year i blew the preamp. One of my friends hooked his amp to the speaker wires leading to the deck rather than the speakers and this killed the amp in my deck.

I bought a new 4 channel 600watt amp and hooked it up today...exactly how it describes. The problem is that every 10 minutes almost exactly, the deck shuts off. It turns right back on though if you shut the car off and turn it back on.

Why would this happen?? It is kinda starting to piss me off, but hey its better to have 10 minutes of music than to have nothing at all.

Ok but the problem w/ that is that the deck isn't cheap. I bought that deck about two years ago and they were retailing for $675, but i got mine for $300 and i really like it. I am trying to save some money for college and i want to try to fix it rather than just throwing it away.

There has to be some sort of timer or display mode that it's in right now because it is precisely 10 minutes when i shuts off. It isn't overheating either because it turns right back on when you start the car again.
