Trans. and codesPagsinvans 03-06-2005, 12:35 PM Greetings all :) new member here. My 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan has been acting up. In the morning it takes it a few moments to shift into gear (into first) and 'shudders' in reverse. Once it is in gear, it runs and drives fine for the rest of the day.. unless I let it set too long (then it takes a few moments again to shift into first.) Yesterday I got a check engin light. Went to Autozone and it read P0106 (Pressure sensor readings not in sync with engin) and P0731 (1st gear ratio). Can anyone help me? I really hope I dont need a new trans. :( Thank you! chigger_ns 03-07-2005, 12:18 AM Yes. I had this problem with my 2001 grand caravan. I took it to chrysler and I needed a $1.13 oring replaced. With labour, fluids, gasket and cover. The grand total was $260cdn. There is a tsb on this problem. Chrysler knows about it. In some vans they fail and in some they dont. I was told It was good I got it fixed because long term leakage messes up the tranny. I m happy. Pagsinvans 03-07-2005, 08:17 AM Thanks, Chigger! Dont I hope it is only a oring! lol! Any idea where the oring it? I never thought there was anything wrong with the trans. It shifts properly while driving and down-shifts with no problems (when stopping). There is no slippage on acceleration (even hard accel.) Its just that first dat'gum shift into first in the morning! heh Pagsinvans 03-07-2005, 03:09 PM I also wanted to note that the Check Engine light came on, that produced the transmission code, when the vehicle was started.. not while running. I dont know if this makes difference or not. Sensor..solenoid? O-ring? rebuilder 03-31-2005, 01:21 PM contrary to what chigger has to say th tsb for accumulator o-ring and cover does not apply to your vehicle.Has anyone checked the fluid? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
