There is usually one or two on ebay. I see one as of now. I do agree with freakray, however, that it may not be worth your time and effort.

why not, the 2003 engine is much faster and is the easiest to find aftermarket parts.

Okay, let me explain.
Dropping the EJ20T into a 1996 L is not just a drop in, you have to replace the computer, wiring harnasses, modify the engine mounts, replace or modify the cross member, plumb in the intercooler and radiator, replace the hood, replace the rear differential.
And that's assuming you got the gearbox with the engine.

If you want to turbo the 2.2, you have just as many mods except from a different perspective.

Now, since you don't have a clue about cars (which is perfectly evident by your questions), maybe you want to find out more before thinking up wild mods ;)
