Protek 03-25-2002, 04:34 PM Is there any easy cheap fix like this for the front? brads94accord 03-25-2002, 05:33 PM Originally posted by Protek Is there any easy cheap fix like this for the front? unfortunately there isn't your gonna have to but a static kit from progress or and adjusatble ball joint kit from companies such as: eibach, ingalls, specialty products company, and sprint. i personally have a specialty products company kit on min that i got from nopi locally for 130$ my front camber is perfect now. strodda 03-26-2002, 01:34 AM Originally posted by Protek Is there any easy cheap fix like this for the front? yea me too. i bought a ingalls control arm bolt kit off of ebay, for $120. it looks pretty simple to install yourself, then just have a shop realign it. strodda 03-26-2002, 01:37 AM Originally posted by SpoilerV2 YUP... the alignement shop i go charges 75 cents to 2.00 a shim.. well shit, i got tricked. i bid on a kit, but i forgot about it and the auction ended before i could backout. whats the correction with each washer added??? im gonna drop it 1.8" so how many should i add? nittanys1 03-26-2002, 08:54 AM I've got a little negative chamber on my back and was wondering if the washer thing would work on my 99 accord? I ask someone who sells them on groupbuycenter and he said I have to cut my inner fender...... I need one so let me know. And I though Progress uses ball joint system ? brads94accord 03-26-2002, 04:15 PM Originally posted by r1ch_b don't you have clearance probelms with specialty products ? And I though Progress uses ball joint system ? well my front right control arm rubs on the little platic liner thing about once in a blue moon, cause i'll look under there and see it out of place and torn up, but you can't even tell its rubbing. im dropped 2.5 inches in the front with the kit all the way out and it seems to be doing ok. my front camber is -.01 and 0.0. oh yeah, progress uses a ball joint kit but its non adjustable, hence the name static. strodda 03-26-2002, 04:19 PM Originally posted by brads94accord well my front right control arm rubs on the little platic liner thing about once in a blue moon, cause i'll look under there and see it out of place and torn up, but you can't even tell its rubbing. im dropped 2.5 inches in the front with the kit all the way out and it seems to be doing ok. my front camber is -.01 and 0.0. oh yeah, progress uses a ball joint kit but its non adjustable, hence the name static. who did your alignment?? thats damn near perfect brads94accord 03-26-2002, 09:22 PM this place called butler tire. they are a local performance wheel shop. they specialize in sports cars and lowered cars. strodda 03-31-2002, 01:59 AM ok, hopefully a simple question. 1.8" rear drop. how many washers would i need to "mostly" correct the camber. im not looking for perfect, but i dont wanna have to buy new tires every year either. brads94accord 03-31-2002, 09:14 PM Originally posted by strodda ok, hopefully a simple question. 1.8" rear drop. how many washers would i need to "mostly" correct the camber. im not looking for perfect, but i dont wanna have to buy new tires every year either. im thinking two washers will do just fine. i have two in my back and its still off a little but not enough to cause tire wear. strodda 03-31-2002, 10:24 PM Originally posted by twizzaut all i used to fix the camber in back of my car was some washers how much is it lowered?? and how many washers did you use? Dahmin8 04-07-2002, 05:36 PM I've got Neuspeed Sport springs on my 90 LX. That's 1.8" in the front and 1.7" in the rear. I've a Progressive Camber kit in the front and didn't have to use any washers that came with the kit the I bought in the rear. I'm currently rolling on 17" Giovanna Chibas. I also have front and rear Suspension Tech sway bars. I am not certain if the sway bars helped, but when I got my alignment the rear was damn near perfect also. So I didn't need the extra washer in the rear because the car isn't dropped far enough to matter. Hope this helps.:) strodda 04-07-2002, 06:38 PM Originally posted by Dahmin8 I've got Neuspeed Sport springs on my 90 LX. That's 1.8" in the front and 1.7" in the rear. Hope this helps.:) on the rear kit, did you keep the stock bolts? and if not, does using the kits bolts(even without washers) extend the arm out at all? the springs i got are 1.8, so if im lucky maybe i wont need one either. Dahmin8 04-07-2002, 08:19 PM The bolts in my kit were longer. It won't make a difference. My stock bolts are still in. I'm sure that your stock bolts will do just fine. The longer bolts are used to compensate for the extra distance caused by the washers when installed. You probably could use the stock bolts when using the washers. I guess to justify the cost of the rear camber kit most of the manufacturers have to supply you with something for the money. I would just install whatever camber kit that you have purchased in the front. Then have your alignment checked to find out what is needed. The shop that I went to, didn't need to adjust my rears at all. The front only needed a little tweeking. Also, with a static kit you have to install them correctly. You have a 50 - 50 chance to get it right or wrong. Don't worry though if it's incorrect your front upper control arm will hit. If it's correct you shouldn't hear a sound. I do however recommend going with the adjustable camber kit. It does seem to be easier to adjust, instead of tearing everything apart again to correct an error in the install. The good thing about the static thogh is once you're right, you're done. Unless you want to go lower than they are recommended for. :) strodda 04-07-2002, 10:44 PM yea i got a ingalls kit already for the front. adjustable of course:D ive just been really damn lazy and havent installed them yet. and i gotta make an apointment at the shop, and they said theyd add washers if necessary, as part of the alignment charge. who knows when ill finally get it all done, get new tires, and put my rims back on. but ill be sure to get a pic up when its all done. and thanks for all the help strodda 04-07-2002, 10:47 PM one more thing, do you have any pics of your rear wheels? i know itll be ok driving straight, but im worried about rubbing when i hit a bump or something. i have 215/45's, did you have to roll the fender at all? Dahmin8 04-08-2002, 08:04 AM Your tires are bigger than mine. I didn't have to roll the fenders at all. In the rear I believe you will need to worry about the control arm rubbing the top of your tires. What is the offset on your rims. Offset of your rims will determine alot. I hope this pic helps. http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/979055CloseupChiba.jpg:) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
