1. what amp should i get to power my 2 x 12W6V2?
budget is about US$500 for amplifier (s) for subs.

i am going to be running:

Speakers:
Focal - 165 A
6 1/2" midbass
Max. Power Handling: 120W
Nom. Power Handling: 60W
Sensitivity: (2,83 V/1m): 92dB
Frequency Response: 60Hz-20KHz
US$150

Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1
6 1/2" component speakers
Nom. Power Handling: 100w
Max. Power Handling: 400w
Sensitivity: 90dB
Frequency Response: 75Hz-23kHz
Crossover Frequency: 3.5kHz (24dB/oct)
US$180

Subs:
1. 12W6V2
2. 12W6V2

2. should i go for a couple of mono for subs or a 5 channel amp to power all?

my choice:
Soundstream - Tarantula 800/5
4x50w + 1x200w at 4ohm
4x100w + 1x400w at 2ohm
2x200w + 1x400w at 4ohm
US$ 450

the reason on why i need to 're-design' my system is that i need a matching design to assemble all of my components. or could someone give me a sample layout for my system using 1 sub/2 sub placement?

You won't want to get a 5 channel amp to power that system because you will GROSSLY underpower the subwoofers!

Got much are you spending on the w6v2's? Also check out CDT, the EF61-cfi/25 series AND the HD series have MUCH better midbass than the Infinity Perfect line. Send an e-mail to islandsound1@yahoo.com OR aim: djdilliodon
He is an authorized CDT dealer, sells new with full warranty at goo prices!

Get back to me, I got a few amplifiers in mind! peace

JL 1000/1 ....... go look at some 1000 watt amps from US amps.... you'll want 1000 watts rms x 1 at 1 or 4 ohms

if i get the 5-channel amp, i am going to be powering a pair of focal - 165 A, another pair of the kappa perfects and one 12W6V2, for less price, where if i get a couple of mono blocks, i will be powering 2 subs, with a more expensive price.

i'll be paying for $500 for 2 subs off my friend.

i am having focals for midbass at the rear and kappa for a full set on the front, is it not how it is supposed to be?

WOW, $500 for the 2 subs. Sure hope those are brand new!!!!

Anyway, that amp although is a nice one, is a little on the weak side. You'd be better off either going with one sub amp and then either a 4ch or 2ch amp on the rest of the system. The Orion 1200d would work good for you.

i think a 1200d would be a little too much power.....the subs are only rated for 400 watts a piece and the orion is underrated.

since you are working with $500 i'd go on ebay your can get a rockford fosgate bd1500 model 2002 for about 350 maybe cheaper. and it would push the hell out of those w6's..A/D/S is a great amp to power your components but they are a bit expansive. and i was just woundering how much did you buy your 12w6v2's for?

750 a piece is too much on 6v2's.... plus fosgate is one of the most overpriced brands I know.

250 is a little steep to pay for what the w6v2's have to offer. they'll get decently loud have fun!!
