does anyone here own the borla hush catback exhuast? i just got mine today in the mail and the connection from the downpipe to the exhuast is strange. the flange isnt against the downpipe flange.(so no gasket?) i dont think the exhaust can be connected to my perrin downpipe.. its confusing but if you have the exha. you know what im talkin about. has anyone hooked this exhaust up to a aftermarket downpipe??

Do the flanges just not meet up? I've heard of this happening. I think it's actually the downpipe's fault rather than the exhaust's. How far apart are they?

no they meet up but the flange on the exhaust isnt actually welded on the exhaust. its a thin flange that is put on it that can move around.(sorry hard to explain) when the flange is pushed to the end as far as can go the pipes line up (barley)but the flanges dont touch. leaving a gap between the two. it can be conected but exhaust leakage seems pretty likely.the flanges on the perrin down pipe look the same as the hks that i have on it now. but the borla flange is diff from the hks exhaust.

It's an expansion joint, you may want to get an exhaust shop to show you how to fit it up.

Oh, yeah, those can be a b!tch. We put a Borla exhaust on my friend's 3000gt and had a momentarily similar problem. I'm not sure how it was resolved because my lunch break was over and I had to go back to work. They got it mated up, though.

yea i ended up having to do some welding. but its nice now. then i got it dyno tuned. and from replacing the downpipe and the tune i went from 207 to 247 hp to the ground!! i was very pleased :) i'll post the graph print out with my friends scanner
