I just recently got a 87crx si and now i am trying to get more power into it . I was about to put in a 90 integra gs engine into it . Or looking to put a zc engine into it . Or what motor should i put on it and is there any upgrades i can make to the body or the car in general . THANKS! ANY HELP WOULD GREATLY BE APPRETIATED.

It all depends on your budget.

I personally like the D16A1 motor (not on the list) from an '86-'89 Integra since it pretty much drops right in. There is also a JDM D16A1-ZC motor available that puts out about 135-140 HP in stock form.

B20Z block with a B18C1 head :P that's my opinion and what i'll do someday when it comes down to having to rebuild my EW4.

It would seem like to me that if you are doing a swap that does not just drop right in than it would be better to just do a B18A/B or B20B/Z. The B20Z would be really nice same hp as the B18B and more tq. But I assume you would have to do a lot of wiring.

well im working with around $2,500 and its an si so therefore i have a multi point instead of the dual . and i already got experience in wireing up the vtec and other solenids on the vtec engines

Well if you are wanting VTEC then maybe you should go with a B16A? Your car should be rather fast with that swap and it is rather cheap too compared to the B18C1 and B18C5.

I dont think that that'll work. If i'm not mistaken the 89 LS came with a D16A6 which is fairly equivalant to a DOCH ZC motor and i fairly sure that they didn't make a vtec head that'll fit it. If you are thinking of the LS/VTEC motor they use a B18 longblock and a B16A6 head. But for my money i think that the best way to do it right the first time would be to get a B18A1, build it up and Turbo. just my 2 cents.

You're right, and wrong.

A SOHC VTEC head will fit on a D16A6 (called a mini-me swap), but an '89 Integra LS has a DOHC D16A1 motor.

hi guys i have no clue what kinda engines were around back then so i dont know what i can do......right now i have a 86 honda civic hatch.....can any of u guys list some engines that would be able to be swaped into my car so i can do some research? thank u :)

hmm...theres plenty of things you can do,D16a1 would be a good one.ZC(theres 2 kinds of zc,both should fit in your car)...and im not sure but you can prolly do some bigger swaps like an H22 or something like that....but that stuff im not sure about,wait for some of the smarter kids to come and aswer those...haha,good luck

Just letting you know that there are actually 4 ZC motors, and only the 1G Civic and 1G Integra ZC motors will fit in an '84-'87 Civic or CRX.

heres a question will a 15b drop in place of the stock 1.3 in an 87 hatchback, if so what would I need to change?
