'Bout that time again.

Me:
Honda Euro Accord R (Acura TSX)
Honda Legend (Acura TL)
Audi A8 4.2L
MG Midget
Esso Ultron JGTC Supra (with tiger stripes)
2003-4 JGTC NSX (Mugen pref.)

Curbside resins for the Legend and the Audi would be fine, since the whole point of those two are the long, beautiful sweeping lines of goodness.

Transkit for the NSX woule be find, and just decals for the Supra would be wonderful.

What ya'll want?

Actually, I`ve contemplated converting the Ram Air Trans Am kit from Revell into a Firehawk. It would require modifying the hood, front bumper, and wheels. The hood concerns me most. The heat extracters on the 1:1 cars have complex curves which would be very hard to replicate in 1:24 and get it just perfect.

2003 Mustang Mach 1
Ford GT
My mom's car, a 1984 Grand Prix

The models I can think of offhand have already been made....so Revell,
Rerelease the LS1 Trans Am already!!! (Commemerative ed. maybe?)
And while you're at it, where's the Foxbody Mustang??? It's only like, the most popular Mustang among hot rodders.

Mostly, I just want the 2005 Mustang and Corvette to come out already. Like, now, not August. Or whenever they said.

Nope, those are two diff. cars. The first one is an EG6 bodystyle and the other one is the -87' Civic. No kit was ever made of the EF body style, just a really hard to find transkit that goes on to the Fujimi CRX.

yup not too hard, but don't use the fujimi accord. i would suggest getting the aoshima U.S. wagon. the one that fujimi has is the '97 JDM version.

When this thread version #68946 is made, we should all respond to that thread with McLaren F1 . Only with a unified voice would maybe, just maybe, a model company lurker would take notice. Now I know everyone has their own individual preferences on what kit they want based on what they owned, driven, raced, etc, but I think most of us can agree that it is a travesty that one of the best cars ever has not been replicated in plastic in full detail form (no curbside, please). Great car with a great history, too. Who here wouldn't want one or five kits? Of course then there are a dizzying amount of race car variants, so the possibilities are numerous (and probably quite profitable).

I'll put aside my other kit desires for this. McLaren F1. One voice. Who's with me?

jswillmon

I second that.... Please gives us the F1 !

Fkouch
03-25-2005, 07:17 PM
I first, second and third that!! However isn't there some sort of license problem? I'm sure I read that BMW was pissed at Mclaren for working with Mercedes and that they wouldn't let the license be used ( similiar to the problem thats keeping the hobbit from being made).

However this is and always will be my #1 want. So much so that I'm butchering a Profil 24 kit to make my perfect Mclaren Road car.

Can you imagine a Tamiya F1 Mclaren with Enzo level detail and a SMS detail kit to go with it........ :eek7:

Plus Tamiya could make so many different kits from the basic mold, GTR, LM, Longtail, All Carbon XP1!!!

Cheers

There is only one McLaren that we need in 1:24th scale plastic that we don't already have, and that's Bruce McLaren's final ride, the M8D (there's only a 1:20th scale MPC kit, unfortunately).

No other McLaren is so historic that it deserves a plastic kit, particularly not Gordon Murray's self-serving gluttonous wedge. That car was a Murray, not a McLaren.

McLarens are bright orange (New Zealand's national racing color). They're brute simple but brilliantly effective. They win through clever engineering and effective powerplants, not devil-may-care spending.
