I believe anime is animated (cartoons) and manga are comics (graphic novels)

eversio11 is absolutly correct. Most manga becomes anime eventually if the fan base is there. Dragonball is a prime example of a manga that became a serial anime hit.

there is a company called manga entertainment as well.

manga are the graphic novels and animated manga is the anime.

tyhey are basically the same exept anime is animated manga and manga is just pictures
