I was wondering if the 2003 1500 silverado came with a 6.0L V8 form the factory or was it at least an option.

I think that they only come on the 1500 HD's but I'm not sure, someone will help you soon enough though.

The 6.0L came in the 1500HD (which is basically a non-HD 3/4-ton truck) with 300 hp and 360 lbs-tq and the SS Silverado with 345 hp and 380 lbs-tq.

Regular 1/2-ton trucks had either a 4.3L V-6, a 4.8L V-8, or a 5.3L V-8.

im pretty sure that guy WhiteLightning (a regular on this forum) has a 2004 1500 2wd with a 6.0 from the factory. I think it was some sort of performance package that came with 20's and a dpecial suspension, and im sure a few other things. His truck is basicly a SS without the AWD.

Well, he had said 2003 specifically, but you are right about the truck with the SS engine minus AWD. I think they were very limited (regional) production in 2004, but are available anywhere for 2005.

One thing I noted from the Chevy Website for the 2005 Silverados - is that there is a new 5.3 liter high output engine (as well as the normal 5.3 liter).
