I have a head gasket gone on a /95 chev 1/2 ton 350c.i. and would like to do the job myself. I was wondering if anyone knew of a website with info on the procedure. I have done them before but it has alot of years have past since then and I don't want to screw up. If there is no website then maybe some insite.
Thanks

Don't know any websites but i'm sure there are some. Well lets get you started.
1) disconnect battery
2) drain coolant from radiator
3) remove all hoses, linkage and wires from intake
4) mark all plug wires and remove them along with the cap
5) remove distributor, mark the position of rotor and position of dist. first with a scratch or tape. Also mark the wires that go to the coil. This will make it easier on the reinstall.
6) remove all the bolts in the intake. (12 bolts)
7) remove the valve cover, remove spark plugs as not to break when removing exhaust.
8) remove bolts from exhaust to head. (6 bolts)
9) remove nuts from rockers store nuts, pivots, rockers, and push rods in the order they came, so they go back on the same studs.
10) remove all the head bolts (17 bolts)
Hope I didn't miss to much. I would suggest buying a Chilton or Haynes manual from the local auto parts store. It will help with all the different torques when reinstalling parts. Good luck, hope I didn't scare you off this project.
It's not hard, it takes time and with the book in front of you it will be easy.
