Hi everyone. I drive a 99 Eclipse GS 5 speed. Lately my car has been seeming to run awfully slow. I have tried cleaning the injectors and changing the oil. My car use to tear my friends 2002 Civic up and now it seems alot slower then it. We havent raced since the first time I beat him. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions please post.
Thank you,
Jake

I'm assuming you mean it's worse than what it was when you bought it? Hmm I'm not extremely smart with the 420A motor. But if you know for a fact that you're losing power, try getting new plugs/wires. Your catalytic converter might be clogged. O2 sensor could be going. Might have a leak or two somewhere. Get your hands dirty man. Start checking your spark plugs. Pull 'em out and check for any oil deposits, see if the electrodes are shot, etc. Check your wires. Bad boots, tears, etc. But then there's the other factor. You may have just gotten use to the GS. Doesn't seem as fast anymore because you drive it every day (if it is your daily driver). That's what happened with my dad's oldsmobile intrigue. Had a 3.5L V6 Twin cam putting out 215hp. That thing seemed to haul ass when we got it, then after a year or so it seemed slow. After not driving it for a month, got back in it and it seemed to haul ass again lol.
