Best performance tires?Mathizar 03-01-2005, 05:27 PM I am currently saving up for a set of rims and rubber. I know for a fact I want 16" Rota Slipstreams, but for the tires i'm not so sure. I hear everyone talking about Falken Azenis but are they really that good. Are they as good or better than Toyo, Kumhos, or BF goodwrench G-Force tires. I am planning on buying a quality set of tires. Let me know thanks. Wischmaster 03-01-2005, 05:46 PM :iceslolan: Oddly enough, I'm in the same bought exactly. I plan on getting 16" Rota Slipstreams wrapped with Falkan Azenis. I'm my very own opinion, I think that would be a great setup. I hear many good things about both the Slipstreams and Azenis. And two good things together should make a damn good thing. :) CivicSiRacer 03-01-2005, 10:33 PM The are a purpose built tire though. I've used them for the past 3 autocross seasons and they are very grippy, stiff sidewalls (for great cornering), and inexpensive too. Although the newer Azenis (RT-615) are out now and the old ones RT-215s are being discontinued. jameskersten 03-01-2005, 11:34 PM azeni's are a great dry weather tire and performance (track, etc) but in terms of water on road and life of tire: they are a terrible. i use a falken ziex 512 for my street tire (good rain tire, quiet, longer life, decent handling, etc) and when i go to the track i have a set of yokohama a008rs' (slaloom slicks). i find this to be the best of both worlds. CivicSpoon 03-02-2005, 12:10 AM It is probably a better idea to get some responses from people on this site, but here's a site that has reviews and ratings on tires: http://www.1010tires.com/tires.asp pika 03-04-2005, 03:31 PM i need some tires that will handle my NITROUS OXIDE... VRRRRRRRRRM eckoman_pdx 03-04-2005, 08:57 PM If your looking for a good wet and dry street tire with decent thread life, the BF Goodrich KDW-NT's are pretty good. As for best PERFORMANCE tire, it's all relative to what you are using them for. A tire might have killer dry grip but be awful inthe rain, if might grip great but wear very quick...what are your needs? If you auto-X for example, you might consider 2 sets or rims with 2 sets of tires...one set with Azenis for the autocrossing, but a second set with the KDW-NT's for daily driving. These are still a very good performance tire, but will last a good dela longer than the Azenis', which is good for daily driving. Plus they are a good wet and dry tire. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
