Well here is the scoop... My truck is running like crap... I first thought it was plugs and wires... so i changed all of them and the truck still runs like crap.... so my next guess was the egr valve... i took that off and pluged up the spot where it goes with a 10 gauge sheetmetal and gasket, plus a new air filter... still runs like crap... now here is waht the damn thing is doine.... you start it and it runs like a porpain forklift...sputtering alot, real rough, allmost sounds like it has a miss.... oh and i fliped open the butterfly on the throttle body (really wish it was not part of the intake) and the intake is full of gas... and the oil is starting to smell like gas with 2500 on the oil change... now when i did the plugs and wires there where two broken plugs, so by those cylnders not fireing gas will start to mix with a little oil... so i think that is solved... now im down to thinkin it needs either a new cam, a new coil, new distributer or a new fuel pressure regulator... oh and the exhaust is so rich you could set it on fire.... there is no cat on the truck, took that off to wondering if it clauged, no the problem lol.... please if you have any ideas let me know. thank you

Sounds like your injection system is at fault. Most likely you will have to pull the plenum, and replace the injector (spider) assy, and the fuel lines feeding it (nut kit). Very common. Injector(s) sticking and will cause your engine to lock up with gas if bad enough. Plenty of advise on that here including some pictures/instructions. You have a CPI injection system, same as my 93 I am sure. Get the oil changed too. The parts for this will set you back around 300 bucks, buy them on Ebay, and do not buy off brands....

he said he opened the butterfly. so does that mean you have tbi? is it a 4.3? if you answer both yes the last reply will not apply. if it is cpi check into it. have you check fuel pressure, timing, or vacuum hoses? clean that egr and put it back on. youll need it.

It is not the throttlebody injection... it is the vortec intake with the 6 individual injectors...The next thing i am going to check is the vacuum lines and then the fuel pressure regualtor... sombody told me that their truck was running the same way and they said that they replaced the MAP sensor and a vacuum line and that fixed their problem. if anyone has anymore suggestions please let me know... ill keep trying the cheapest things first lol

You do not have 6 individual injectors. I believe that started in 96 with the csfi vortec engines. Most likely your cpi is leaking and causing gas in the oil, etc.

Replacing map sensor will be a waste of money. If you have to replace fuel regulator, you need to replace the entire assy, including injectors and line kit. If you replaced the plugs and still runs bad, check your oil again for gas smell.

Well I Think My Problem Is A Blown Head (well Cracked Heard, Head Gasket, Or Block)... Tried To Get It Home Last Night And The Smoke Comeing Out The Back Of The Truck Was So White And Thick That I Could Not See The Headllights Behind Me... Needless To Say I Parked It Lol, I Got About A Block From My Buddys Place And Turned Rite Back Around.

92 to 94 s-10 had a problem with the gas hose in the plenium(Manifold)
The Hoses Get Hot And Cold And Tend To Crack. The Fuel Lines On The
92-94 4.3 Cpu Gets Up To 65 lbs Of Presure. I Had The Same Problem
With Mine. It Will Shoot Raw Gas Under The Manifold And Cause It To Run
Rough And Rich. It ill Look Harder Than It Really WasTo Fix.
1Take off Plenium(Manifold)
2 Get 2 New Fuel Lines From Dealer (they Are About 4 Inches Long Each
3 Disconnect lines fromcpu unit and replace.
4 New Manifold Gasket

It Was Only 2 Hour Job For Me

You Can Check For Leak When You Take Off The Manifold.
Have A Person Turn Key On Ac. Only Do Not Try To Start,When Line Is Pressurized. Hose Will Leak. Be Carefull With Raw Gas !!
