i have a 95 grand am. if i drive it for say an hour, go home park it and then try to leave again after say 5 or 10 min, it will start, but when i put it in drive it putters like its flooded and then dies. when i try and start it again it won't even turn over. if i let it sit for 30 min without trying to start it, it will start right up. whats going on?

Well it definetly sounds electrical to me. I would check your ground points to make sure they aren't corroded and do you have a security system on the car?

It might be electrical, but I actually would've guessed fuel pump from the symptoms. Bad fuel pumps are known to work fine upon start up, and then quit working after they get heated up. And then letting the car cool down will cause them to work again. I would deffinately try swapping out your fuel pump and see if it makes a difference.

when i try and start it again it won't even turn over.
I would agree on the fuel pump except for this part. A faulty fuel pump won't effect the engine turning.
