Headlight switch?

My 1993 LX seems to have a problem with the headlight switch. I have to hit a precise spot when pulling out the switch to get the headlights on. And sometimes when I'm driving the headlights go out. Then I have to find that precise spot again to get them on.

Do you guys think the Headlight Switch has gone bad or has it something to do with some relay thingies?
Does someone here know where I can get a new Headlight Swich on the internet?

Thanks! magmgud

Sounds like the switch to me. Ford has a relay in the switch itself. If you have to pull the knob to a certain position, the switch is probably bad. Go to http://www.motorcraft.com/default.asp?T=3&PageID=0 a Ford parts site. You may be able to find it cheaper at an aftermarket place.

If it is the pull type, pull all the way out. See if there is a little latch that needs to be pushed toward the dash. Then pull rod out. There is a nut that holds the switch in the dash. Remove nut and remove switch from inside the dash. If it is rotary, pull knob off. Pop trim around switch off and remove switch. Not sure which type you have.
