I have two crankshaft sensors, one is new and one is suspect bad.
Suspect sensor has a resistance reading of 4.7M Ohm's center pin to outer pin.
New sensor has a reading of 3.7k ohm's on the same two pin's.
Suspect sensor is more magnetic than new sensor.(used a wrench to compare magnetic strength between the two. ((on work bench))
With new sensor installed jeep will barely run, but seems like it is way out of time. And than dies.
It's a 94' Grand Cherokee 4.0 any help would be great.

The manual says check resistance between terminals B & C. B is center and C is toward the passenger side. There should be no resistance it says to replace if it has low resistance.
I have a new one will check resistance and post back.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, I was doing some voltage checks on the sensors w/key in on position, and forgot about it. I went to work, the next day and when I came home I could here the alarm barely working. The battrey had drained so low the dome lights wouldn't even come on. I completely disconnected the battery but the alarm still continued to make noise(my neighbor said she heard it when she walked by and thought it my be a squirell) So, I had to jump start it, and a couple of times
