Yes you can remove your charcoal cannister but i dont think it will fix your problems with your idle (it just sounds like a vacuum hose leak or something simple to me) but if you do decide to remove it you should know what it is that your removing. Your charcoal cannister is there to redirect gas vapor that evaporates from your gas tank into your throttle body to when the engine gets to a certain temperature (Tho these things do have a lifespan and im pretty sure that none of these are doing what they are supposed to anymore.) this is what that little vacuum line attached between your cannister and your thermostat which goes to your throttle body is. you can completely remove this line and your cannister with no complications or problems. just make sure that you plug the steel hose that exits near your firewall or you will have gas vapor being dumped into your engine bay (not a good idea) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
