Passenger door Problem

A while back, the passenger door had the seatbelt slammed in it pretty hard. Ever since then the door has been getting more and more loose. Now I checked the hinges and they are fine. But there is a metal piece that at the edge of the door that I think isn't doing what it's suppose to. Have any idea on how to fix it? If so what tools will I need? Please respond ASAP. Thanks.

The one on the side of the door, kind of looks like a hook.

Door lock assembly? On the side of door, matches up to a large striker bolt on the door pillar? If so, you should see 3-4 bolts on the side of the door, they are either Phillips head, or more likey torx heads. Try ensuring these bolts are tight, they hold the assembly to the inside of the door.

Also, check the striker bolt on the door pillar, make sure it is tight, it uses a Torx head. You may get fortunate and be able to move the striker bolt around a bit to better match up to the assembly.

Hope this helps some.

Well, the bolts are tight, it just don't close right! Could it be bent? If so how would I fix that?

Does the "hook" you refer to fit flush in the assembly or does it look bent?

Does the striker bolt look bent?

Yeah, but not bad

Then try to re-adjust the striker bolt. Just loosen it, it will 360 degrees in a small area and up-down side side. Bent side towards the door, so the bolt is level, even if bent.

Mark around the bolt before doing this, so you have refer point of original position.
