I have a 05 silverado that has 265 70/17 on it I was woundering how big of A tire can I go that will still clear in the front. I was thinking of going with the bfg all-train but I am not real sure how well they will do Since i drive almost 50 miles a day roundtrip for work and it is all highway miles.

A lady friend of mine just purchased an 05 Z71 x-cab stepside and she put 285's on it and did NOT turn the torsion bars at all. No scrubbing at all. I drove it the other day around my hunting land and it never once scrubbed.

What brand and model were the 285"s

How tall Is a 285 going to be on a 17 inch rim and what else are people using becuase I also have 50 miles roundtrip highway miles.

They were Cooper A/T's. And I think they measure about 32.8" give or take a half inch.
