Progress of my Plymouth GTX '67....againproosen 02-24-2005, 04:10 PM Feeling confident enough to show some progress on this problem child of mine. What's happend before getting this far (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=310740&highlight=proosen) can be seen on this thread, didn't want to take the old thread up again as it's a bit dated as of today. Anyway, got a new paint job on waiting to cure thoroughly before polishing, got some engine detail done and also got the interior going. Making my own exhaust system with the kits mufflers and some styrene stock which is going to exit just in front of the rear wheels. Have some aluminium tips on it today and it's waiting for some paint before attaching it to the headers. And tha...tha...tha...that's all folks. At least for the time being. Keep up the ggod work! DukeMan 02-24-2005, 04:57 PM Good to see you back in (at least modelling) buissness again! I´m anxious to see this baby at "the Open", I hope you´ll get it done in time! Keep it up buddy! GvEman 02-24-2005, 06:13 PM Looks promessing! I hope to se that one at the open... I must work hard with my Impala now...... Well Keep it up Niclas! proosen 03-03-2005, 02:21 PM Got some stripes on it now and the interior is coming together. Better pics will come as soon as it's finished, the sun is down when I get home from work so you'll have to bare with this for a while. I cut the stripes from Microscale's plain black decal sheet and just stuck them on one by one. Sanded and polished the paint just the other night so now I'm quite hopefull that I will finish it in time for IPMS-Open in April. Going to be home for two weeks with my youngest son, he is starting at kindergarten on monday and the first two weeks is a soft start to get used to the new people and environment. Hopefully I can do some more building when he takes his daytime nap. Enough small talk, let's go down to the pictures. How did you do your guages? They look almost perfect? Well, it's nothing fancy. A steady hand, a fine brush and some paint. It was a bit fiddly and I did get paint where I didn't want it, but it can hardly be seen in real life so I'm pleased with the result. Niclas mike united 03-03-2005, 11:51 PM L:eek7::eek7:k at that shine........!!!...........superb stuff Niclas. Mike. GvEman 03-04-2005, 07:16 AM Looks sweet Niclas! Cant wait to se this one at IPMS. Very nice color and shine indeed. proosen 03-18-2005, 03:47 AM Made some progress and got the BMF and panel lines done. Also sprayed Alclad chrome on the bumpers and front grill. Have to wrap this one up soon as it's going to the contest table in about two weeks. Unless something really bad happens that's no problem. Have to make a new windscreen as I messed it up trying to tint it slightly green, the rear window turned out fine but not the other one :banghead: Well, that's what it's all about...try, try again until you are satisfied. And you got a Hemi and all.. :) Bra jubbat ! proosen 03-20-2005, 02:21 PM So, I was fiddling with some foil copys according to Mr. Juha Airio's method. Didn't quite get it right but give me a couple of more tries and it will look better. This is what i managed to accomplish with my second attempt on this. Just layed on the front wing for you to see how it turned out. I will eventually have all emblems sanded away put on the car. For now it'll do without them as time is scarese. Niclas http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v332/proosen/American%20Muscle/Mopar/Plymouth%20GTX%201967/Foil_copy_10.jpg proosen 03-22-2005, 08:28 AM Decided today that I needed a little brake, so I went out shopping and got me a couple of magazines and a Revell Plymouth GTX. No not really, but it was fun to make the box and magazines to put in the back seat. Also put in the seat belts up front an a key in the ignition. The magazines are Scala, IMPS-Swedens modelling magazine and Classic, a motor magazine with all kinds of motoring stuff...snow mobiles, helicopters, US-cars, European cars and boats to mentions some of the content.
