SVT VS. ZX3 JR supercharged!

well i got a big question! whats faster? a 2003 svt or a 2003 zx3 JR supercharged?, i only have enuff money to get a svt or a SC zx3, so let me know! i wana go all 1/4 mile, ive looked it up for stock svt's and they run about a 15.8 stock but i cant find any 1/4 mile times for a mostly stock zx3 with a jackson racing supercharger on it...so if anybody out there has one let me know! ty!

a SVT is a 15.3-4 car and about 155whp, a SC zx3 is about 170+whp(depending on boost, mods and tune) and weighs less, with better 1/4 gearing. THe SVT is geared more for autoX.
what i dont trust is the JR facts on the site they claim the test car only got 103whp stock, that is a CRAP dyno number for a stock car, and the tq is low also, you can make more power then that on a well tuned turbo kit at 6psi with stock internals. Wh would wind a FI motor out to 7k when the internals wern't ment for it? hell i ve seen people lay down 132+whp in an escort with chip, header, camgear, intake, and udp, set of cams and tune it and you can easily take a SC focus, cuz that tq is DAMN low ive seen escorts break damn near 120wtq stock.
it will be in the low 15's is done right(maybe tap a 14) but really no one that has a SC is also gonna be basicly stock either, they will have things like pully kits, header, exaust, intake, Chip for the tuning, cam gears, and probably even cams and a head job. no one really just slaps a SC on a car not designed for a SC and goes, its easier to build the motor for the SC so you can get more hp from it.
Personaly if you go FI on a focus i'd get a turbo. Unless you planning to build on the SC ZX3 i'd get the svt its not gonna be a large differnce, and you'll have a few more luxory options.

I agree with zx2srdotnet, though the gear ratios are different, the SVT model is just nicer all the way around. You won't really even need to touch the suspension setup. I was just at Infineon raceway taking a course and passed a Mercedez Benz SLK 350 in the turns, it ate me up in the straights though. Put a Vortech supercharger on the SVT (along w/ appropriate mods) and you'll have a well balanced machine.
