new cavalier section moderator-Jayson- 02-22-2005, 10:32 PM i dont know about you guys, but i think we need a new mod/new mods in this section of the forum/ We only have one crappy moderator who doesnt do much to contribute to this section or do his job (KustmAce) Not to mention he knows very little about cavaliers in general. Hes more concerned about riceing out his ride, then insulting others for the same thing. He called CRJ a ricer cause he had pin stripes, but Kustmace has more oin stripes than a zebra. Anways further more im assuming it was him who deleted the thread about how to remove the governor/speed limiter. Their was nothing wrong with that thread. I thought we were allowed to discuss the speed limiter in here. Anways hes so dumb that he deleted it and it didnt tell anyone how to remove the limiter. If anything all that joke thread i made was to see if anyone was stupid enough to do it, and see how many people actually claimed to know how to do it, but in reality didnt. Its easy to say you know something when its against the rules to say it. So i would like to take a vote here to see how many people would like new moderators in here. Just yes/no right now for the poll, if you want to nominate someone just reply with their name at the bottom of the post. Once we have enough votes we can ask the higher moderators to make a few more. Classicrocjunkie 02-22-2005, 10:53 PM Yes he has called me that and what not but i also faught back and threw stones too over PM's and that went on for a day or 2. Were even now. But i think we could use one more mod in this section to help better out this area. In the bottom of the screen it says moderator: Shortbus@af.. I think he is suppose to be our mod but the yr i have been on here, maybe only saw him less than i can count on 1 hand. Kustmace is actually the mod for the image minipulation section of AF. So technically he's not even the moderator of this section but my guess is that they are on the prowl. ImSoYesterday 02-22-2005, 11:05 PM Well, three cheers for CRJ and Noshun for mod! Both of these guys have been an unbelievable source of information and CRJ has personally helped me with understanding my car better. He is a great guy. And Noshun just plain out knows his shit! 01Cavy 02-22-2005, 11:31 PM Kustmace has never bothered me. People can consider me rice all day, but rice is simply an opinion, and one I see even you Jayson using a good bit, and it is an opinion that should not matter to anyone. People should not be persicuted for doing what they want to their cars. I do think; however, that there should be more moderators since I haven't seen kustmace in a while. I give my votes to CRJ and Noshun! They are always around, and besides CRJ's now rare, yet funny as hell, bashings on people I think they would make great mods for this forum. They know their stuff and are willing to help as long as it doesn't involve something that people could use to potentially kill themselves or others. Yes the bashing has been scaled way back to a minimal. I save up for the AG section on www-j-body.org where some of the stuff said in there is just nuts! While that site is very useful, it has an over the top amount of bashing. AF on the other hand is kept to a minimal and very rare. This site has more maturity and lets try to keep it a fun and enjoyable place to get knowledge. Humor here and there is a good way to get people to laugh and visit throughout the day. cousincletus 02-23-2005, 07:59 AM I'm new to these forums but they seem so far like a good source of information and I like to share my experiences as well. From what I see from this and other forums the moderator's job is to keep the forums tame. If you have a moderator flaming someones post you havta think WTF? Sometimes we all aren't as accurate as we would like to be as car designs change over the years and most here don't do this for a living. If we all knew everything there would be no need for these forums. But flaming is just plain childish and brings the level way down. inarifennec 02-23-2005, 01:09 PM I'm all for CRJ and Noshun for moderators, They know their stuff and help out as often as they can. Can't speak against our current moderators though, Never met or read many of their posts. But honestly I think CRJ and Noshun would be great moderators. 4dr92cavi4cyl 02-23-2005, 02:01 PM I will second the nomination for NOSHUN and CRJ for Moderators. I wouldn't visit here nearly as much if they weren't on here like 24-7, LOL! They keep it interesting and entertaining to say the least, not to mention the amount of knowledge NOSHUN has brought to the forums. CRJ is honest and is doesn't hesitate to help people. I love this place, I just wish I had the net at home so I could be here more than an hour, five days a week. Classicrocjunkie 02-23-2005, 02:41 PM Since i am a fair person I will make this a fair thread here and make justifying comment about Tim. Kustmace inpart with an admin. did give us the J-body subforum so he has done a few good things around here. I just got done talking with him on AIM and he did have a few good points. His post is expected to show up pretty soon on what he thinks. But also said he'd mention this to the admins. so the ultimate decision lyes up to them and how they feel about the topic. Where is my british conterpart Noshun? Haven't seen him in a few days. KustmAce 02-23-2005, 02:53 PM Well, I see how I am so loved around here. In response to -Jayson-'s O so affectionate post and poll: I agree with you, and all of the other members who have spoken out, noshun and CRJ are both terrific members who contribute greatly to this section. However, one can be a terrific and contributing member without being a moderator. Apparently, what many of you do not know, is that being a moderator is not about how much you know about a certain make or model. Knowledge helps, but moderating is about keeping the peace, and cleaning up messes. While you may think I do not know anything about Cavaliers, I do know a bit. I may not be a human encyclopedia, but I do have experience, and contribute when I can. In my defense, I think I do a pretty decent job cleaning up this section, and keeping the peace. Yes there was a bit of controversy regarding the limiter, but that was cleared up. And -Jayson-, when you assume, you make an ASS out of U and ME. The thread was deleted by the author. Just for my own info, I would like to hear how you think I dont do my job. Also, who exactly are the "higher moderators"? In my opinion, like I said, I can handle all of the technical, behind-the-scenes stuff in this section pretty well. And frankly, voting new moderators just because you dont like me is neither mature nor does it make much sense. Not only that, but just because you vote new mods, doesn't mean Im going to just leave this section. I will still come here, and I will still moderate. But, so that you dont call foul on me, I will post this up for mod discussion, and ultimately administrator discussion. Thanks for reading, and -Jayson-, check your PM box. FormulaLT1 02-23-2005, 03:20 PM It shows how open minded Kustmace is that he even left this thread open. Seeing as your reasoning for wanting a additional moderator is a undeserved attack on his moderating skills. I for one think he does a excellent job and if you have a question on why he has done something a PM requesting the reason for it I am sure will not go unanswered. Seeing as he checks in here daily I don't think another mod is needed in this section and that is what I am going to say in the mod corner as well. John ImSoYesterday 02-23-2005, 03:55 PM Or maybe his inactivity has something to say about it? -Jayson- 02-23-2005, 04:00 PM well i aplogize kustmace for assuming you deleted the thread, it seemed like something you would do. The fact still remains the members who post her the most feel we need new moderators here. Ive talked to CRJ about this in the past. I dont approve of his modding abilities because hes to personal when he does use them. He puts in his last word, which is usually an insult and then locks the thread. As for being open minded, he had to leave this tthread open, otherwise it would have just made the case further that we need a new mod in here. I like CRj and Noshun, Noshun knows his shit when it comes to cars and post often, CRJ is always around. I cant say the same thing for Kustmace. crayzayjay 02-23-2005, 04:08 PM i dont know about you guys, but i think we need a new mod/new mods in this section of the forum/ We only have one crappy moderator who doesnt do much to contribute to this section or do his job (KustmAce) Not to mention he knows very little about cavaliers in general. You spout a load of uninformed rubbish and insult a moderator who does a great job on AF :disappoin If you want change there's a polite way of asking for it, and an appropriate forum (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=1197). I'd recommend re-reading the AF user guidelines (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/guidelines.html) as you've clearly forgotten the part about "no personal attacks". Classicrocjunkie 02-23-2005, 04:10 PM Untill now i am basically kept out of this in this post but here is defence for this section. " BadAceDesign: not really, cavalier doesnt have a section specific mod, i just frequent it and do my part. Im not an official cavy mod, and frankly i think its doing just fine, despite what jayson thinks. Oh, and im not image manip mod either, my only section where im specific mod is sketching/drawing " With that said from the mans fingers himself, i guess there isn't even a mod for this section according to him. Just somthing that might aid in helping out with gettin one just for our area. If other sections have one just to that area, how come the cavalier section dose not have one? It would be nice to catch flaming threads before they get out of hand with someone who visits frequently could catch before that, and yes he does do his part like i've said. But somthing is only done after things get blown way out of proportion and trying to get ahold of him to do somthing about it is somtimes difficult. Alot of times he's away on AIM. I have myself contacted him with problems in here in the past. If an arguement is started bewtween members it usually shows up in other threads. Since there is no language filter Us regulars have to deal with all the cussing. Hows that for a clause? -Jayson- 02-23-2005, 04:20 PM ok as for me insulting kustmace, its not like hes never done the same to me, or insulted me. But i apologize for calling him dumb. This isnt about kustmace although its no secret i dont like him. My main problem comes from when he insulted me about my brother a few months ago, his post has since been edited by him at the instructions of another moderator. Ive seen him attack and insult people as well. But why cant we have more moderators in here? Or a moderator just for this forum? Someone who is more active? 6-1 is the vote so far. FormulaLT1 02-23-2005, 05:10 PM Untill now i am basically kept out of this in this post but here is defence for this section. Since there is no language filter Us regulars have to deal with all the cussing. Hows that for a clause? There are plenty of active Global GM moderators such as Hypsi87, Flatrater, GMMerlin and Tman2093 just to name a few that log in many times a day to deal with problems on the forums. If you PM any of them if KustmAce (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/member.php?u=142325) isn't available they can try to defuse any problem not to mention any global mod on this list http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showgroups.php? can handle moderating in this forum as well. Seeing as we have many global mods and you have a regular mod who checks in here daily and based on the amount of traffic this forum gets I don't see the need for a cavalier specific moderator but the decision is not mine to make. Thats just why I feel its not needed. John crayzayjay 02-23-2005, 05:23 PM Very good point. I don't know how some users expect mods to be all over an inappropriate thread when they don't use the 'Report Post' feature. If you report any inappropriate behaviour/content, it will notify every single moderator on that list and you can be assured the issue will be dealt with promptly. And in the case of a problem with a moderator, you can PM him/her. If you are not satisfied with the response, contact one of the site admins, i.e. Igor or Aves911 (Jacob), but make sure you have a legitimate complaint as they are both busy people. This thread has served its purpose, it is being discussed in the moderator forum. If it is seen that changes are necessary, they will be carried out. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
