torque convertermisterbart 02-22-2005, 08:15 PM i think i have a TC problem. when i start braking from 35 MPH or so, it's as if the trans can't down shift as fast as the car is slowing and i feel and hear a "thump". it more noticable when the vehicle is cold. i think is been going on a while and now i really can notice it. anyone ever experience this? theFREAKnasty82 02-23-2005, 05:45 AM you have something that was very common in the early 90s with this transmission on your car called "bump stop" where when it slows down, it bumps or jerks to a stop, that's because it's downshifting. Recommendation: go back to the Chrysler dealer and have the TCM reprogrammed so to eliminate the bump stop. misterbart 02-24-2005, 09:44 PM thanx. i'll follow your advice. i was afraid i had a trans or big TC problem 1thunder 02-26-2005, 09:16 PM You may also have to live with this situation some years and engine combinations are very noticeable 4 cyl 2003-2005 sebrings are very noticeable. If any updates are applicable to your car it will help but will never get rid of this sensation. P/S you will also notice with earlier model and engine combos if you changed driving habits or added a different driver to your vehicle this could be the cause of different shift paterns as trans controler adaptes to different drivers andmakes car upshift or downshift differently vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
