sorry if i'm posting a tired thread but i couldnt find another one...

anyway, i've got a 91 ls 5 speed with b18a1, it stalled out on me on my way out of the drive way, the check engine light came on, there was no smoke or anything. i tried restarting it a few times (prolly about 5 mins) and it finally started again. but now it wont rev beyond 3k and when i shift it jerks. i've checked all my fuses and wiring, but found nothing wrong. hope it isnt in the distributor...

thanks in advance.

You ECU is in limp mode. Pull the codes and tell us what they are.

took it to my local autozone, no luck pulling the codes =/ they dont have the older reader.
heres more info: it will idle just fine, but when i want to accelerate, it will stutter (like its missing a spark) then it will all be fine, until i change gears. keep in mind the check engine lite is still on.
any suggestions would be appreciated. thx

I'm not sure if you can pull the codes the same way as you would on a 94, but i asked in a previous thread and boostedk20 responded so check it out and see if it helps

Your shooting and missing technique to diagnosing your problem is going to waste time and money. the CEL is your answer. Your CEL is on for a reason. it should help you not confuse you.

why dont you just retrieve the code yourself with the provided link?

unless you are not mechanically inclined to troubleshoot it yourself, just take it to the shop.

dont take it to a shop yet, cut yourself a 4 inch peice of wire and strip both ends, find a 2 wire connector undder the dash on the passenger side, cant gaurantee this but i think it wil be a brwon and a green/white wire. I have a 92 GSR and a 90 GS Ill check my wire colors tomorrow and see whats up as far as colors/exact location goes.

use the short wire and jump the plug(one end in each terminal of the plug) and turn the key to on and watch it blink.

at least try before you pay someone way too much to fix it for you.

OBD0 vehicles have a led flashing on the ecu. you dont need to jump wires.

ok, didnt know that, I knew some did but wasnt sure what years. have only had 1 OBD0 honda and have never had to work on it yet.

that sounds even easier then so you shouldnt spend your hard earned money until you at least give it your best try.
